Hurricane Relief Pescadero

Please help locals in Pescadero recover from Hurricane Odile. Many residents homes have been completely destroyed or damaged. This fund was created to help their recovery efforts. Bridget Tidey is on the ground and she is helping distribute our funds. "Ana Maria, Ronnie and I spent two days driving through every street of Pescadero and made a map of who needs a ruff, who lost their house completely and who needs food, mattress, towel etc. we talked to the people in the poorest area and tried to get them inspired to help each other, and emphasized that this is not us helping them, it's everyone needing to help each other. We also invited them to meet at Baja beans. The next morning they came! So many people came, I think around 150 local people, and many of them were the ones who had nothing and were living at the school or in the ghetto. They all wrote there names down and chose a team to either be the leader of or work with. The teams are: cleaning streets/schools, two soup kitchens, repairing houses, gathering supplies, building crews, finding recycled building materials, gathering clothes. Almost everyone on the teams and the leaders are from the town so it was very inspiring. The money will first be used to pay those who need the money 120p per day to help their community. Then for gas and any supplies needed, and building supplies. Nava is going to donate some materials as well.
