Help Send Clair on Vacation!

Most of you know my daughter Clair. Clair has Williams Syndrome, is cognitively disabled, and has a collection of life-limiting cardiac and pulmonary issues. Four years ago, she suffered a stroke. She worked her tail off and never complained about any therapy. She has come back, stronger than ever. We are all incredibly proud of her. Through all of it, she is the sunniest, funniest young lady. This is a kid who wasn't even supposed to make it to 3. She is now 22.

"Normal" has been our goal since the very beginning of Clair's life. Kids are supposed to grown up and move out. Clair lives in a CILA (Community Intergrated Living Arrangement) here in Chicago. Most of you would call it a group home. To Clair, her housemates are her family, too. LEEDA, the company that helps her live her life does a stellar job. In a state and era of decreased funding for places like LEEDA, they continually do more with less.

To that end, Clair's household would like to take a little vacation. LEEDA has asked for family/guardian help for this. Frankly, it has been tough for me lately--between moving and still paying the vet for Clair's beloved kitty's passing. Clair's dad has not been employed in a long, long time. Also, this has blown up rather fast at LEEDA and I just don't have it this month. 

So I am appealing to my family and friends to help. Any amount is deeply appreciated. This is for her little trip and a little spending money--what's a vacay without a little mad money? Any funds that don't get used will go into her savings account for future fun.

This will be her first "real, grown-up" vacation.  If there is one kid on this planet who deserves to get away for a few days, it's our Clair Bear!  Please help me make this happen for her!
