Cakes for a cause

After 14 years of service, my Kitchenaid mixer is getting tired and can't handle the tough jobs I need to bake cakes for family, friends, customers and donated cakes for Icing Smiles.   A friend on Facebook challenged 49 of my friends to chip in $11 to help out with the replacement which will have the power I need.  Most of the listings on Craigs List are the mixers that are putchased from department stores and have a much smaller motor and bowl which will wear down much sooner than one I need for my work.

Years ago I would have shook my head and said "no, I'll wait" but I know that I would help my friends out and would be annoyed if they didn't ask so I've gotten over myself and if this speaks to you, I would appreciate it.
