Paramedic Education
Hello,
The picture of me in the Firefighter outfit is from when I was in elementary school and won a running competition! This little tomboy won glamour shots. Mom was thrilled, me not so much. But they had the Firefighter outfit, which helped me enjoy it a little. Ok, maybe a lot. Well it's now a long time since elementary school and I am starting a Paramedic Program at Oregon Institute of Technology/Oregon Health and Science University. I have known since way back then that this was the career path for me, and now I am so close to making my dream come true! So close, but yet, need help to reach it fully. Asking for help financially is a very hard thing for me to do, but knowing I need this help and being able to ask for it is allowing me to grow as a person through this process. 
This program will allow me to gain knowledge in emergency medicine, and the ability to respond to medical emergencies. Becoming a Firefighter/Paramedic is my ultimate goal, and acquiring the Paramedic certification will allow me many more opportunities to apply to Fire Departments. This program is about a year in length, and very intense. I will be in school full time which leaves very little time left over for income work. This schedule makes it very difficult to cover the whole amount of tuition needed, as well as all my books and mandatory school supply’s. This is where your assistance can make my dream come true. I am currently working as an EMT(Emergency Medical Technician) for an ambulance company out here in Portland, OR. 
I am fortunate that upon receiving my Paramedic Certification, I will have a job in the field with my current company right away.
I hope that with reading this you can find a dollar or five or twenty to help me make my career goal of becoming a Firefighter/Paramedic a true possibility, and my life goal of providing for those that I love and care deeply for become a reality!!
