My project is to build a butterfly breeding facility in Bettsville, OH. With your helpful donation I will be able to raise and release Monarch butterflies and help to re-populate the quickly declining number. The facility would be capable of releasing 100-500 butterflies a week what an incrdible number! In the wild these amazing creatures face so many obstacles that their survival rate is very low, this can include weather, predators, humans. The Monarch\'s decline is due largely from limited milkweed resources which is the only food source for the caterpillar. By raising them in a more controlled environment not only is there a better survival rate but there is also the fact that healthier butterflies will be set free.

I began my interest in the Monarch butterflies when I read about monarch waystations, which are small or large gardens created as rest stops for the Monarch during migration. I immediately felt compelled to build a waystation. Since the completion of my waystation I have witnessed many butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds to my garden. Along with the joys of seeing them in the garden I have realized the dangers they face and how few make it to adult butterflies.
