Kitten Needs Emergency Surgery
On the morning of September 7th, Olive, my kitten who just celebrated her first birthday started vomiting.
She vomitted four more times over the weekend, so on Monday, September 8th I took her to the local Cat Hospital where they found thread wrapped around her tounge and running down her throat. Thread she'd eatten right off the sewing machine.
The doctor sedated her and cut the thread from around her tounge, however, the thread could not be pulled out. I asked for an Xray to make sure everything else was alright (there wasn't a major blockage, she hadn't swallowed a needle, etc).
Thankfully the Xrays came back and showed that there were no metal objects inside her, and that there was nothing clearly showing up.
However, 24 hours later, and she has still not eatten, has not used the litter box, and has barely moved from her spot on my bed.
I was told if she did not fully recover that I would need to bring her back so they could surgically remove the thread.
And this is where I am.
(update 9/11) The total cost of her care comes to roughly $1,340 and that includes the first visit for $304 that was for X Rays and the second visit for surgery for $1,035
(I am going to leave the funding goal at $1,000 as I did say I was funding surgery, so I don't feel right including her other visit. However, any funds up to $1,340 will go directly to affording the care of Olive.)
So Olive and I are looking to our friends for any help you can offer. Even the smallest
Those who know me know I've started quilting recently, so as a thank you to those who donate, I will be ofering a miniature cat inspired quilt. I have just started quilting, and though I cannot promise expert construction, I promise you that my heart and Olive's (along with her hair) will go into every stitch.
