Congress of Future Medical Leaders

Hello! I am Katie Riley, and senior at Corbett High School, and I have been given the once in a life time opportunity to go to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders. The congress will put me in the same environment as Nobel Prize winners, deans of leading medical colleges, top medical researchers and innovators, and so many more people that will have a positive impact on my career. The congress allows admission by nomination only to high achieving students who plan to go into the medical field. I have known that medicine was my passion for longer than I can remember. At the age of 4, when I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I did not say princess or pop star, but pediatrician. The dream has changed a few times since then, but the medical theme has stayed the same. Today, people I have met and experiences I have had lead me toward Oncology research. I mean, who doesn't want to cure cancer? My hopes for the congress are that it will help me define my path, where I want to go, who I want to meet, what I want to create. In the process, it will open my horizon to so many wonderful opportunities in the medical field.
