Help Remove "In God We Trust"

Donation protected

Recently the Supreme Court has issued several rulings which show they either don't understand or don't care about the First Amendment's Establishment Clause.  "Congress shall make no law regarding an establishment of religion."  Local governments are allowing explicitly religious displays at government facilities without allowing the inclusiveness to those of other faiths and unbelievers that is required by the Constitution.

Why don't they care?  Maybe because the gains the country made in keeping the government secular have been infringed gradually, little by little.  There's a cottage industry churning out publications filled with lies about the nation's history to justify it.

One of those infringements was the adoption of "In God We Trust" as a national motto in the 1950's, in response to the Red Menace.

It's time to tell the truth about the "national motto."  It's time to remove it from government walls, and from the national currency.  Teddy Roosevelt--a devout believer--thought it inappropriate that such a phrase be placed on the nation's money.  We agree.

This fund will be used to establish an "In God We Trust - America" nonprofit California corporation to spread the secular viewpoint.  $400 should cover the legal and filing fees involved.

Should we get to $500, we'll use the additional funds for stationery, cards and postage.  Give more, we'll do more.

(Why "In God We Trust - America"?  Because it was the name of a now-defunct corporation working to shoehorn the "motto" INTO the government arena where it does not belong.  We're taking it back.)

The national motto from the beginning was "E Pluribus Unum," "out of many, one."  It's time the country was unified again.  It's time we be "one nation undivided" by religious disputes.
