Send Art Travel Club to Rome
In the spring of 2013 the first ever Inuvik Art Travel club made their way to London, England where they had the time of their lives; most of the participants being in their last year of high school. This coming spring break our group would love to have that same experience. We are planning a trip to Rome, Italy where we are planning to visit art galleries, museums and other art related historical cites found all over Rome.
Our group is based in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, which is an isolated northern community in Canada. Due to our geographical location people do not get the opportunity to travel to large cities very often. Inuvik can be found at the end of the Dempster highway, the longest highway in Canada; this highway is always subject to closure due to weather and road conditions and even when it is open it takes over a full day to travel it. The only other option when leaving Inuvik is to fly out but unfortunately, with the isolation not only are there a set (and rather low) number of flights in and out of Inuvik any given day, but each of these flights are very expensive. A single round trip ticket just to get from Inuvik to Edmonton, where we would depart for our International flight to Italy, would cost $2,100! This is a lot of money, especially when you are planning a trip like ours where you are sending a group of 14 students and chaperones (and let’s not forget that flights are not our only expense).
Everyone from the group is very excited and we are all doing our best to raise the money outside of this web forum but even still every last dollar that people donate makes the trip more and more likely. Everyone here from our club thanks you for your donations and your support of the arts!

Amy: Hey I'm Amy. I am in the Art Travel Club because I love art and it's always been my favorite class. I'm super excited for Italy so I can learn all about the art history there and experience it up close and in person!
Brianna: I'm Brianna, I am 17 and in grade 12. I've always loved art and when I got the opportunity to join the Art Travel Club, I couldn’t pass it up! Rome is full of art and it would be an astonishing experience to take in all its beauty first hand, with my classmates.
Sarah: Hello my name is Sarah and I am a grade 12 student of East Three Secondary School. I love art, and have taken it every year of high school because it is not only a fun and enjoyable class, but because it is something I am passionate about. So much so, that I am even considering going to art school. This is a wonderful opportunity for myself, and others who are fanatical about art; to explore and dive into art in a way we have never experienced it before. Italy is a beautiful country, filled with tons of art I can’t wait to experience with the rest of my classmates.
Ben: Hello my name is Ben and I am a grade twelve student at ETSS. I love art so much and I have taken all of the art classes from art 10 through art 30 and I am even taking pottery class this term! Next year I will be off to live in a large city, an experience I have never had before but before I go, I have always wanted to go to Italy and being able to go there with a lot of the same people who were in elementary school with me would mean a lot. I would personally like to thank each and everyone of you who donate to our cause, it means so much to us.
Julius: my name is Julius. I am in Art Travel Club because I love art. Who doesn't love art? I don't want to miss the opportunity to explore Rome and to see the attractions, the history, and the wonderful art of Italy.
Karly: Hi! My names Karly and I am 17 years old and am a grade 12 student from Inuvik. I love taking the art classes at East Three Secondary School and seeing or trying different mediums to express myself. This trip is a great opportunity to experience art in a place that has so much history of it. Going to Italy with my classmates would be an experience of a lifetime.
