Bugsy's Story

Once upon a time there was a nasty hurricane named Francis. When it was over and the waters receded we found something that would change our lives forever. Inside a tiny chicken wire crate that had washed up into the yard sat a tiny mud caked beagle puppy. We named him Bugsy and nursed him back to health. He repayed our kindness by filling us with joy and so much unconditional love. Through good times and bad he is always with us ready to cuddle and give those sweet beagle kisses. Now our wonderful boy needs help and we are trying to get him what he needs to keep sharing his life with us. Bugsy has been diagnosed with Cushings Disease. It is a tricky disease that is hard to manage and will cut short his life. We did receive some good news through all of this. Bugsy is a perfect candidate for surgery to remove his left adrenal gland. Once the gland is removed he will be cured. It is a sugery that requires a specialist, so it is quite costly.
