Surgery for Hope

This account is to raise money for my best friend and constant companion, my American Pit Bull Terrier, Hope. When Hope was 6 monthes old, she was diagnosed with having medially luxating patellas at a level 2. This condition causes the knee to move in and out of place, giving her constant joint stiffness and pain. Surgery at a level 2 is not often needed, as it isnt a very severe problem, because the knees are not in constant luxation at this level. As time has gone on, and Hope is now 4, her pain has done nothing but increase. Most days, I have to carry her up the stairs, and in the mornings, help her stand up from her laying position when she can't get up on her own. This is devistating to see. On Thursday September 4th 2014, Hope had her surgery consultation. The surgical team came in, spoke with me, and evaluated her. I was given the devistating news that Hope is now at a level 4. Her knees no longer luxate. They are stuck out of place at all times, with scar tissue surrounding both knees. I was also informed that she has partiel to full cruciate ligimant tears in both legs, causing constant discomfort and pain. Hope has been outstanding at hiding her discomfort at most times. Hope will need a metal plate and screws to hold her knees in place, as well repair to the torn ligimants, which includes more plates for recontruction to the bone alignment. Shockingly enough, this cost is just for one leg, although that could make all the difference in Hopes quality, and quantity of life. I myself will be saving up as much as I can, as Hope is everything to me, but I am also desperete in reaching out to a caring community willing to assist. Anything helps, and I really mean that.
