Brooklyn Community Garden

Donation protected
In an attempt to help feed and organize people in the Brooklyn area, residents, activists and supporters are building a community garden on a vacant lot in East New York.

The vacant space is owned by the city but has neglected and forgotten for years. We plan to transform it into free public garden for everyone to enjoy.

The food grown from the garden will allow us to create East New York's first Food Not Bombs chapter!

We envision a garden with a greenhouse to grow food during cold weather ($650),

chicken coop with approx. 10 hen to lay eggs ($800),

and an aquaponics pond system to teach permaculture ($500).

This project is a form of Mutual Aid. It is free to join and participate in, and all activities will be voluntary. Anyone within the New York City area is welcomed to volunteer.
