My cousin Shayna recently was admitted in to the hospital due to her twin boys having Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). TTTS is a rare syndrome found in idential twin pregnancies. She went in 24 weeks pregnant and ended up having a crash c-section at 25 weeks. Anderson and Grayson were born right after midnight on 8/26/2014. I know that she doesn't want to focus on the details of the boys but as you can see, they were much smaller than anticipated.
Both of these babies are fighting everyday for their lives. I know that Shayna would never ask for anything monetary from anyone...in fact, she is only asking for prayers for her growing little family. She is such an amazing, strong woman and I am so incredibly proud of her and her husband during these tough times.
On average, the cost per day per baby in the NICU is $3,000. The baby boys have been there for a week now (not including her stay before they were born). At this rate her hospital bill is at least $42,000. As I said before, Shayna would never ask anyone for anything but prayers, but this is where I come in. I know that money and bills can cause stress during times when stress is not needed. If you can find it in your heart to give anything...any little bit would help their growing family. We don't know how long they will need to be in the NICU for, so my goal is to raise $100,000. This is the least I could do to try and help my family.
