Change for Chimps

Hello friends and family:

I’m raising funds to aid in the September fundraiser for Save the Chimps; their September goal is to raise enough funds to purchase a year’s supply of unsalted sunflower seeds in shells (a total of 2,600 pounds). Sunflower seeds are a tasty treat for chimpanzees and are used in behavioral enrichment activities to keep the chimps mentally stimulated with activities that replicate life in the wild.

Save the Chimps cares for nearly 300 chimpanzees who have been rescued from research laboratories, the entertainment industry, and the pet trade. They are a permanent sanctuary for the lifelong care of rescued chimpanzees that does not condone the sale, purchase, or loaning of chimpanzees. Further, they do not allow chimpanzees to be used for invasive research.

I’m asking for friends and family to donate what they can: $1, $3, $5, $20, etc. to purchase unsalted sunflower seeds in shells for the chimpanzees.
