New Firefighting Gear

Crims Chapel Volunteer Fire Department is a small, rural fire department protecting and serving a portion of northern Rusk County in East Texas. As a volunteer fire department, we rely primarily on grant money and the generous help of the Rusk County ESD, as well as fundraising, to cover all of our expenditures, including protective gear, apparatus, and training. Currently, the majority of our firefighting gear is going out of date. Firefighting gear, and the fire retardant in that gear used to protect us, has a shelf life. We will have to put this gear out of service soon. It goes without saying the risks this could propose to the safety of our firefighters.

We need ten new sets of firefighting gear. The total cost for this will be roughly $25000 (USD). Thanks to the Rusk County ESD and a cost share grant from Texas Forestry, half of this expense is covered. We are humbly asking for your help in raising $14000 to cover this expense and fees associated with this fundraising effort. Any additional money raised during this event will be directly applied to the purchase of a new fire engine and the equipment for it, that we are in the process of acquiring. We are committed to providing the best possible fire protection and service to our community and neighbors. Without the generosity of people like you, this task is nearly impossible.
