Police Officers' Voice
Donation protected
Where is the voice for police officers in times of crisis and criticism? I want to be that voice. In 2006 an officer was forced to shoot a burglary suspect. The officer was not considered a victim of the perpetrator's crime, even though her world was turned upside down. I persuaded the prosecutor to allow her statement to be read at sentencing. In 2012 an officer shot a wanted suspect who was known to be violent and actively evading police in a residential neighborhood late one night. The officer was charged with a felony! I provided evidence of the reasonableness of his actions and his criminal charge went away. In 2013 an officer was subjected to searing criticism for using a taser to end a struggle at a fire scene. I spoke out publicly in his behalf in the media at at his city council to defuse the criticism. He was able to keep his job. In 2014 I travelled to Ferguson, MO and made multiple media appearances to help give a realistic narrative to counter national criticism of the law enforcement response. Each of these efforts have been at my own expense with no compensation. In order to continue to advocate for America's law enforcement I'm asking for your help. Your donation will help cover travel expenses and other costs involved in operating the National Center for Police Advocacy. Thanks for your support!
