A dear husband, father, brother and friend John Palacios suffered a sudden massive stroke while training students at his martial arts school. He is currently paralyzed on his right side and is not able to talk. The neurosurgeons have told us he will never walk or talk again because of the extensive brain damage caused by the stroke which affected the main artery in his brain.
He has dedicated his life to teaching martial arts to children, teens and adults. He has played the father role to many single parent children who needed a father figure in their lives, a friend and mentor. He's loved and impacted all of his students young and old. He has watched the young students grow into wonderful adults who now have families of their own and are bringing their children to him to pass on the discipline and training to the next generation.
He was hospitalized for 3 months, had 3 brain surgeries and has a long road ahead of him. He will require 24 hour care for the rest of his life. Unfortunately, insurance will only cover some of his expenses - not all of them.
While he is surrounded by love and support from family and friends his medical and daily expenses keep adding up and will continue throughout the course of his life, especially since he will never be able to work again.
