Sarah's Brain Cancer Fight

Back in March of this year my husband found me in the middle of the night having a seizure. He called 911 and I was rushed the ER. There they took a CT scan and found a mass on my brain. They rushed me to CPMC in SF where I had MRIs and surgery the very next day without delay. I had a large tumor on the right side of my brain pushing on my life side (Anaplastic Astrocytoma Grade III). My husband, Ryan, and I lived far away from family (closest being 3 hours away in Redding, CA). We lived in Novato, CA near SF. Our mothers, both, rushed down right away to help us. My sister, Idalia, from Washington, even drove down to be by my side.

I recovered from that surgery and we moved back to Redding for family support and had 6 weeks of radiation and chemo therapy, that did not work. I ended up back in the ER and then flown to UCSF hospital this last August. I had another surgery to remove more tumor that had grown and was pushing on my left side motor functions abilities. I couldn't move my left leg or arm. I was lucky they most of the pressure was from swelling and not the tumor actually growing into the area. I now have another 6 weeks of chemotherapy that is far more aggressive than my first treatment course, that failed.

I have great family support emotionally but financially we are now struggling. We had to move back to Redding since I couldn't work or drive on my own. My husband no longer has a job because of all of this. My mom is pretty much supporting us financially right now. We have a medical billing business together that lost clients because of my current condition. 

I have medical insurance under the Obamacare that makes my cost $12,000.00 each year. We are currently paying three medical facilities for this. 

I will have to have MRIs every 2 months for the rest my life. That is 6 MRIs a year, so I will probably have to pay $12k each year until insurance coverages get better. That is not counting the $500 it cost us a month to have this insurance.
