Help me recover my work!

Hello,
I'm a mentally ill art student who was already having dire financial issues (I can't afford to pay the rent next month, for a start) before this happened.
Yesterday afternoon (31/08/2014) my external hard drive gave up the will to live. Along with hundreds of photographs of family and friends and my entire digital music collection, it also contains all of my work (writing, photography, video) made over the past 10 years. To lose all of that would be completely gutting and some of it is important to the degree I am currently studying for.
To get my work back I've been quoted a price of £299+VAT (estimated total of £358) and there is no way I can afford that. I am asking people to help me pay this bill, with the £500 total taking into account GoFundMe fees and any extra costs that I may incur.
I was going to offer rewards in the shape of prints of collages or photographs but yes, you guessed it, the files are on my hard drive. I would be eternally grateful for your help with recovering my work!
