Hey friends and the rest of the world.
For those who know me skip this bit but for those who don't.
My name is Joh Duffield or duff for short. I'm 28 from South Australia. About 10 years ago I broke my neck diving into a swimming pool and was left a quadriplegic.
Anyway now you have a bit of background of myself!
Lately I have found my self a bit bored and in need of a new challenge. So I decided I'm going to ride from Adelaide to Melbourne. I'm not literally going to ride there I'll leave that to the super stars like Shane Crawford, I don't want to steal his thunder. So I'll be doing it from the comfort of my living room on my trusty hand cycle.
It's 725 km from Adelaide to Melbourne and I'm hoping too smash it out in about 7 weeks. That will be about 100 km a week. Normally it takes me 30 minutes to smash out 5 km so I'll need to average about an hour n half a day. Might not sound like much but it will be a struggle for me!
To keep my self motivated and make sure I complete the journey I'm setting up a page were people can donate cash, if they want to.
Some of you might have seen the spinal research doctors are doing oversea, which involves taking cells from the nose and transplanting them into the damaged spinal cords of people with spinal injuries.
They are getting some exciting result for people living with spinal injuries. See the attached link.

Sounds like they need a few bucks to continue their research so any money I raise I'll be swing their way.
If you want to donate, please click here!

Well I should get my ass into gear and get on with the journey.
Melbourne here I come.
