Need Help Paying Moms Medical.

Long Story Short I have had a nightmare on Ebay. This has been compounded by the fact that I need to pay bills for Utilities, and my House

Earlier in August, my mother got hit by a car while crossing the road at Queens Blvd. Thank god she was physically ok and did not suffer major bodily damage. However, being 65, her body is still in pain from the accident and she's in need of physical Therapy. If you would like to see the accident report, I guess just message me on Facebook, I can email it to you. I don’t quite want to post it here for everyone to see.

I took it upon myself to pay some of the bills for the house, as well as chip in for my mom's physical therapy bill. To do so, I used my Ebay account to sell one of my most cherished Items, my Magic the Gathering Legacy deck. I put the deck up for auction and it fetched around 2700$.

This was more than enough money to pay the bills. I was ecstatic. I was so happy that I immediately charged the bills to my credit line and paid the Physical Therapy office with credit card.

Soon this happiness and bliss would turn to dread.

The buyer, after receiving the item, claimed I had sold him counterfeit cards. I was a bit agape at this but I figured if he wasn't satisfied I would simply have him return the product to me and then I would refund him. I could just sell the cards/deck to someone I any of my friends in NYC or even sold the stuff to an online buyer such as Star City Games or Troll and Toad. Using the Ebay Mobile app on my phone I used the option to ask him to return the item for a full refund.
Or so I thought.

When I went home later, I checked my Paypal and it turned out that the buyer had been fully refunded for the item. When checking Ebay, it claimed I had elected to refund the buyer the full amount and the case was closed. It seemed the app did not do what I wanted it to do and had gone for the option to just refund the buyer and close the case.

Initially I didn't panic. I figured Ebay would have my back on this issue but it turns out that was far from the truth. I spoke to 5 Ebay Representatives over the course of the evening and 2 from PayPal. The Ebay reps immediately said that because "I" had clicked the option whether by mistake or not, to refund the buyer, I was at fault and the buyer had no obligation to return the item to me. I would have no seller protection. One rep even told me that the app was "Highly engineered and near perfect, it must have been your fault, the app doesn't lie".

I had a mental breakdown. I'd paid for the housing and physical therapy bills with Credit. And now I would not be able to pay the bill. The Buyer has yet to reply. Oddly enough when it came to saying my cards were counterfeit he replied immediately. Now he's gone silent. I think he's happy keeping the cards, especially now that he's no longer obliged to give them back.
I’m not sure what happened with the Ebay app. If anyone has an idea please let me know but at this point I’m infuriated Ebay’s company policy says they no longer have to help me out by urging the buyer to return the Item. Apparently I’ve read online that I’m not alone in this having happened, this incident has occurred with other people as well.

I don’t know what to say for the rest of this. I feel pathetic and disgusting asking for help, and I think after this I will no longer be able to hold my head up high. Alongside this GoFundMe, I am also going to be selling lots of stuff on Facebook, so keep an eye out for that. Even if you don’t donate, please broadcast on social Media, that Ebay needs to do more to protect their sellers, and that they need to look into their app possibly being faulty, just one tweet, one Tumblr post would mean the world to me. Should you have any questions, feel free to message me.

Thanks
John
