Rent for September

Donation protected

Long story short - 2014 has been a very difficult year for me.  As it stands right now, I am right on the verge of being able to get back on my feet.  However, some things have come too late - and if I cannot pay my rent for this month, I will be unable to have a place to stay, which means I won't be able to get to work easily.

Long story long:

For those of you who have followed me on Twitter, you've seen some of the nonsense.  In March of this year, my then-employer was looking to slash production costs, and that included an illegal and painful pay cut of 25%.  Illegal, because it was done retroactively.  Painful, because that is a large chunk of money for me.

I was able to get the money I was owed from the retroactive cut back, however when I scheduled a meeting to discuss the pay cut and how we could work it out - I was fired on the spot.  On top of that, when the termination was investigated, my former manager lied as to why they fired me.  Needless to say, I won my case easily.

I lost my income, and was able to get on unemployment.  However, I did not have much in savings.  My fault?  Yes - absolutely.  I was just starting to build up savings to begin with, and I probably could have been more pro-active about it.  Can't lament what is already done though - I needed to work on moving forward.

During my job search - I had a minor accident, and ended up breaking my wrist.  That added in a good deal more expenses than I had counted on.  I am going to need future treatments too - which I am hoping to save for ASAP.

Unemployment was not enough to cover my bills and expenses, and funds were running out quickly.  Dozens of job searches did finally result in a win for me - I landed a job, but not until my money was almost completely gone.  While thankful for the job, the salary was much lower than what I had before.  Pretty much like if I had taken the 25% pay cut before.  At least the hours are much better.

Since July, I have run out of money completely.  This past week, I ended up getting a second job, which I hope to be able to start this week.  But apartment companies really don't care about what I can pay down the road.  They want their money now.

I'll be working both my jobs for as many hours as I can get in this week, but the nearest payday won't be until next week - Rent is due in 3 days.

I am never one to ask for help - but as it sits right now, I'm going to be out on the street unless I get a bit more time to shore up my funds this month.  I live alone, and I've already sold nearly everything of value I own and canceld all my non-essential services.  It's all me, and I'm simply out of resources.

I'm turning to the Internet and reaching out a hand.  I don't need much, which makes this all the more difficult and frustrating.  Just a bit more is needed to be sure my rent and electricity gets taken care of.  I'll have the entire month of September to work both jobs and be able to handle things myself from there on out.
