Operation Dragging to the Row!
Skid Row is the home to between 3,000 and 6,000 homeless American people living in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, many of those people have children that live there with them.
Those kids don't get to experience the excitement of Christmas Eve waiting for Santa, decorating a Christmas tree, hanging stockings or even enjoying a hot meal on Christmas Day!
The toys they have to play with are mostly broken, previously recovered from a dumpster and dirty. They wear the same clothes day in and day out and don't have a comfortable warm bed to crawl into at night. This is not the fault of those children and it is heartbreaking to know that there are kids out there that are sheltered from the Christmas experience because their families are down on their luck!
This is a dangerous, sad and dirty place for these children to live and it is our goal to bring a smile to these childrens' faces but the So Cal Taildraggers will need your help to do it!
You can donate as little or as much as you wish. Every penny counts! The monetary donations will go to buy items for these families in hopes of spreading some holiday cheer to them!
In addition to monetary donations, we will gladly accept items to assist in making sack lunches, bottles of water, blankets, small toys, books, clothes, warm pajamas etc! Keep in mind, that most of these people have a very limited, if any, income so items that require batteries aren't the best idea.
We will be available to accept donations all day on the 13th of December 2014 at the Mooneyes Christmas Party Show and Drag at the Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, CA.
Look for the So Cal Taildraggers tent and banner or stop one of the guys wearing a So Cal Taildraggers shirt and we would be happy to direct you to our tent!
If you would like to mail donations, please contact either Oscar Barrios (Smalls) or Mallory Freeman to obtain an address.
All of these donations will be hand delivered by the group on the morning of Christmas Eve!
