Saving Sydney

Hi Friends! Thank you for taking time to visit our page. Sydney is our lab/collie/pit mix little girl. We rescued her from a shelter when she was 2 months old. At 3 months old, she became extremely ill. She was diagnosed with Parvovirus ("Parvo"), a common but severe illness in pups. Thankfully, Parvo is treatable, but unfortunately, the Parvo masked the true underlying disease. After numerous trips to the ER, hospital stays, multiple rounds of antibiotics, countless tests, and multiple sleepless nights we had given up hope. One night in May, after being told there was nothing else to do and painfully watching her die, we received a phone call with new results - Sydney was diagnosed with a rare, potentially terminal disease called Histoplasmosis. Usually, this disease is easily treatable. However, time was not our friend and the disease had taken its toll by spreading to all of her organs and lymphnodes. She was hospitalized for multiple days with intensive treatments. Since, she has been on a strict, extensive medication regimen and will have to maintain this for the indefinite future. We are still frequent flyers at the vet and emergency room for extensive tests and lab work, check up, and disease flare-ups. We still have a long road ahead of us but Sydney is now 8 months old and finally growing and gaining weight! She has energy we have never seen before and is such a happy puppy! Any of you pet lovers out there would understand, we have to do everything possible to save her - no matter what the cost! We have exhausted our bank account and credit cards while accumulating a substantial amount in debt and are now humbly looking to you for help. Sydney is our little fighter and she is so strong! She never gave up, even when we were about to. She is the joy of our lives and has taught us how to fight as well. With your help,we will not lose our baby girl!
