Dope Coffee: Help Us Go Fulltime

Friends and Family, Many of you have known me since I was a young boy running around with dreams of flying in the skies or with some novel way to make the world better. I’m writing to you because I consider you my family and friends and right now I need your support. In 2018,  I Co-founded Dope Coffee with my wife Michelle Loyd and good friend / fraternity brother Julius Cave to disrupt the coffee industry by placing Black culture front and center in an industry that hardly recognizes our existence. I took my years of experience in the specialty coffee industry and my passion for socioeconomic change and forged Dope Coffee, a social and lifestyle brand that uses the commodity of premium coffee combined with social-preneurship to serve as a beacon of hope and a platform for engagement and truth. Dope Coffee is a brand that seeks to elevate Black American culture through frank dialogue and the relentless pursuit of positive change, and frankness. I look at our culture with so much hope and vitality because we live in a day and age where many of Martin Luther King’s ideas are becoming reality. Dope Coffee is a part of the reality that furthers the progress of Black America from and economic and social standpoint but I want to do it through capitalism. Many of the ideas that I want to solve are too politicized and the topics too challenging for the mainstream - I want to create my own dialogue and I want to do it through a brand that challenges all assumptions and serves as a platform for a refreshing dialogue, culturally based products that enhance the culture and, most importantly, to give back. I’ve personally invested nearly $8000 into Dope Coffee and friends and family have invested an additional $13,500 this past spring. We wisely used that money to purchase our equipment needs, graphic design and marketing as well as develop our product lines which are now retail ready. I need to urgently raise $2500 during the next 14 days in order to keep the company going as we prepare to launch our popup trailer in Dekalb County, Ga where I work and live. South Dekalb is 97% Black and African American. This is the real deal, there are no specialty coffee shops in this area and we will bring a commodity and a source of pride to this community that none of the big brands are willing to do. Also, the economics simply make sense. Dope Coffee Company is led by a dope team of professionals with a combined 10 years of entrepreneurial experience in the specialty coffee industry. This team of Wake Forest Grads is prepared to make a strategic entry into the speciality coffee game and drive a dope product lineup that speaks directly to the culture and has widespread mainstream appeal. Dope Coffee is a hit because we are what we say we are, we’re Black, Saucy, here to make an impact, and here to make business work for the community. We have the team, we have the skills, the products are in place, the distribution is in place, we are ready to scale and drive Dope Coffee into the stratosphere but we need your help.
