Josh Lawson's Recovery Fund

Over the years, Josh Lawson has made us tasty coffee beverages, made us laugh, taught us how to swear in Chinese, taught some of us how to heal and become better, and has generally just been a pillar of our community here in St. Paul and abroad. He has been a kind face always there everyday, with a smile, a piece of advice, or a good hug.

  Two weeks ago, Josh was diagnosed with a rare, large, malignant, and aggressive salivary gland tumor which appeared overnight. He spent 10 hours in surgery to remove the tumor and now faces recovery, radiation, and chemotherapy. As a result of surgery, he will experience temporary facial paralysis and permanent loss of several ranges of motion in his arm and shoulder, for which he will undergo physical therapy.

Josh will spend the next six weeks in recovery and the following six weeks after that in chemotherapy and radiation. At this point it is uncertain when he will be able to go back to work. We are hoping to use these donations right away to help pay his rent, his personal bills, his medical bills, lodging while he is at the Mayo Clinic doing chemotherapy and radiation, food, and basic living expenses. He has been unable to work since early December. We want to ensure he has no financial worries while he focuses on healing.
