Hello, we are A Step Above Perfection, FGCU's Step Team. Since "ASAP" Step Team has been created in 2008, it has only positively represented Florida Gulf Coast University. From our volunteering to our many student-oriented performances to our guaranteed quality entertainment, we have done our best to make our FGCU family proud. Not only has this remained consistent over the years but also we are planning to exceed these expectations.
In our recent efforts, we have begun competing in addition to being a performance team. We competed in Break the Stage National Step League's competition in Wellington, FL this past year. We placed first and advanced directly to Nationals in Atlanta, GA (skipping Regionals entirely). We were quite honored and ecstatic to be nationally considered great for our talent; however, due to insufficient funds, we were not able to compete in Nationals.
Currently, we are raising money forsmaller-scale operations and more local activities. As a student-run organization at FGCU, an institution built on environmental awareness and service, we hold these values close at heart. Coincidingly, we actively serve the SWFL community and recycle our uniforms--when able. Unfortunately, it has been tough to do this as college students without much money or proper uniforms for the team.
This account is now centered around help for gas for performances and volunteering as well as uniforms. Although we plan to fundraise and attempt to obtain a decent amount of money on our own, we still are in need of assistance. We are unexplicably grateful for all who have helped us thus far and we promise to continue making you all proud.
