Thank you for visiting my site. Please click on the video below to hear the full story in my words.
I can remember exactly where I was when I first felt the lump in my left breast. While I knew that I had to get it checked out immediately, I never thought that a 25 year-old, with no family history of the disease, could have breast cancer.
This past July, my doctors performed a bilateral mastectomy with reconstructive surgery. While my surgery was successful, my journey is far from over.
I will be receiving intensive chemotherapy for 3 months. It is the kind that will cause me to lose my hair. Another side effect of the chemotherapy is that it will damage my fertility, and the doctors are recommending that I should freeze some of my eggs in the event that I would ever want to have children. Unfortunately, insurance will not cover these expenses.
I am asking for you to contribute in any way you can. The total medical cost is around $15,000. Below is a breakdown of each expense.
· $11,000 for fertility (includes freezing of my eggs, medicine and storage for a year)
· $500 for chemotherapy treatments
· $1,000 for wigs and accessories
· $500 for additional medicine
· $1,000 for travel expenses
· $1,000 for additional unexpected medical expenses
Thank you again!
