Dinsmoore Farm Fire Relief

Donation protected

On January 29th 2015 a massive fire destroyed most of the barns on Kirk and Cindy Dinsmoore’s century old family farm near Fairgrove, MI. These barns were the heart of their dairy and most recently their beef cattle operation. Typical farm kids, their 3 children spent more time growing up in the barns than in the house. Tragically, 25 beef cattle including calves, feeders, pregnant cows and the family's retired grandma cow, Goldie, all perished. Currently the surviving cattle are housed at two different locations and will need shelter by winter.

Also lost were the farm workshop and tools, parts inventory, cattle supplies, seed, twine, skid steer, hay wagon, several thousand bales of hay and straw as well as space to store them and the silo full of silage. Restored antique wood brackets, corbels and trim for the farmhouse were also lost.

Any monetary aid will be greatly appreciated, since insurance will not be enough to replace the cattle housing and parts inventory and for clean-up. This fund is supported by Jason Elenbaum, Evan Johnson, Lonny, Carol, and William Kester, Jenny Sabo, Carl and Kathy Childs, Bob and Becky Daniels and many others in the small farming community.
Donations will go to a fund set up specifically to help The Dinsmoore's rebuild, clean-up, provide care and feed for the cattle and help cover any additional or unforeseen costs associated with this tragedy.

Thank-you for your heartfelt generosity.
