Cosmosium at NYC Maker Faire!

Help me get to New York City to showcase my web application, Asteroid.Ventures to a worldwide audience at the 2014 Global Maker Faire! We are creating a game that teaches the sciences and economics of space travel in the hopes of popularizing real world space endeavors!

2014 has thus far been a year of the fundamental changes, in my personal life and in the way the world interacts. I've leveraged this to pull teams together, often at person expense. This has meant occassionally risking my own income stability in the hopes of building a brighter future. I've been unemployed 7 out of 9 months, but working furiously for 4.5 on the game that will define my career. Please help out!

April was a dark time for my family, dealing simultaneously with loss, dissolution, distrust and an uncertain future. Despite the challenges, we pulled through. Saying goodbye is never easy, and under the circumstances I couldn't even say goodbye.

One beacon of hope was my efforts in starting a fun new project. For the 2014 NASA Space Apps Challenge, which was a set of 48 hour competitions partaining to space. Our goal was to create an asteroid mining game.

While we didn't come anywhere near close to completion, we laid a foundation which we are still building on today! Our open source webGL game engine Cosmosium has continued to grow and we have a lot of exciting stuff in developement!

For this, we get to thank the generosity of SpaceGambit and the Maui Maker community. Their financial award covered costly cloud hosting, and payed our hard working team members, but nothing into my personal wages. So any help is DEEPLY appreciated, I need to market this game in person so that we can have the reach we need to succeed!

It's been a struggle of a year for me to launch this project, and any help in affording this travel would do wonders for not just myself, but pushing the project forward to new heights! It is my hope that education in science will help bolster a generation of truly cosmopolitan and compassionate society! The best way forward is straight up!

I'll leave you with my favorite Neil DeGrasse Tyson segment as inspiration! Cheers!
