Help Me Stay DACAmented

Donation protected
Hello friend,

Me llamo César Miguel. I’m an undocumented queer student at UCLA and an activist organizer who has been living in California since I was four years old.

For two years, I have committed myself to fighting for my community. As part of the Antelope Valley Dream Team, as member of the local LULAC chapter and as a staff member at the agency which employs me, I have assisted in putting a dozen DACA/California Dream Act clinics, numerous presentations and countless community meetings with the goal of serving, empowering and organizing my community here in the Antelope Valley.

Today, I’m asking for your help so I can continue working.

On January of 2013, I was granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. This gave me a work permit with which I was able to obtain a license, a job and to begin living my life without constant dread and fear.

However, my DACA expires in January of 2015 and USCIS’ rules mean I must apply to renew before the second week of September. I will be without any income until September 15th, right after my renewal window closes. I’m worried I’ll fall back into not having a status or permission to work and that come January, if USICS does not process my application, that I will be unable to keep my job.

The application costs $465.00 just in immigration fees. My family is stretched too thin for me to go and ask them for money, so I’m counting on your kindness and generosity. Whatever I can collect will go towards paying for my DACA.

I appreciate whatever help you can offer, even if it’s just well wishes.

Thank you, so much for taking the time to read this.
