Pregnant Woman Brutally Beaten.
Recently, a young pregnant woman, Francine, who works for me returned from a temporary assignment to be brutally attacked by her boyfriend. The damage was so severe, she had to be transported by Life Flight to Boston General Hospital. Her attacker choked her and attempted to remove her eyes; one was never found, ane there is little hope to restore the vision in the remaining eye.
Our wish is to raise money to contribute to her care. She will need to be transported back to Bangor and will need extensive rehabilitation as well as assistance with her new baby. The City Reach Church has been instrumental in the arrangements, but is a non-profit organization lacking the financial means to support her recovery.
Francine is a lovely young woman who was looking forward to the birth of her new baby. During my conversation with Francine, she mentioned how disappointed she is that she will not be able to see her baby. She also mentioned that she is not a bitter person; she just wants to adjust to her new life and enjoy her new baby. Francine is definitely a survivor and deserves support through this terrible tragedy.
My office, as well as the community has been following the story closely, and we have all been very disturbed by the actions of the person who was supposed to protect Francine the most. I know she would appreciate any assistance people are willing to contribute.
