Denali Cares for The Children's Lunchbox

DENALI CARES: WE'RE HERE TO SUPPORT OUR ANCHORAGE COMMUNITY
As many folks ‘hunker down’ with their families, many other parents worry about how to feed their children. With school not in session and a record increase in unemployment, the need to feed hungry kids continues to grow. We know more of our families who are already on the edge or barely making it will struggle more.
That's what starting on Monday, July 6th to Friday, July 31st, Denali. A division of Nuvision will be partnering with The Children's Lunchbox for a donation and food drive benefiting Anchorage families who've been affected by the pandemic.
The Children’s Lunchbox will have five sites operating Monday, Wednesday and Fridays where children and families can access food through a drive through model in the parking lot.
Each child in the family you will receive two supper meals and two snack meals (children don’t need to be present) . Each family will also receive two pantry boxes which provide a shelf-stable meal for a family of four. The pantry boxes contain a breakfast, lunch, or dinner, with enough to feed a family of four (4). Individuals can arrive in person, or drive through and grab and-go their pantry boxes. Each family will receive two (2) boxes while supplies last (one for the day of distribution and one for the following day).
The Children’s Lunchbox is stepping up to make sure no child goes hungry in Anchorage. We have distribution sites for prepared meals for kids (dinners and a snack) as well as pantry pack boxes. The pantry pack boxes provide a shelf stable meal for a family of four.
Just $10 can feed a family of four for an entire meal. The need is to make 50,000 pantry packs during this hunker down period.
FOOD NEEDED FOR PANTRY PACKS
■ Pastas: Spaghetti, Fettuccini, Shells, Macaroni, Bowties, boxed Mac & Cheese
■ Sauces/Seasonings: Alfredo/Marinara/Pesto Sauces, Chili & Taco Seasoning packets, Cheese Sauce
■ Fruits/Veggies: canned fruit/vegetables/beans, canned tuna & chicken, dried fruit, fruit cups
■ Soups: canned or boxed soups, stews, or chili, chicken broth
■ Crackers/Bread: shelf stable breads, individual cracker packs, crackers in sleeves (Ritz or Saltines), cracker boxes
■ Breakfast: individual cereal cups/boxes, oatmeal/hot breakfast cereal, shelf stable hash browns, shelf stable milk
