Deacon Luis Castellanos Medical Fnd

Hi Everyone,

I need your help.  I am at a crossroads in my life's journey where the cost of my medical treatments far exceeds my financial resources.  The Knights of Columbus Council 12376 and Fr. Andy, pastor of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, encouraged me to setup this website in a concerted effort to raise funds to pay my extremely high medical bills.  I was diagnosed with colon cancer in November 2012.  After many months of multiple complications, 5 surgeries at 4 different medical centers I have managed to survive.

Deacon Luis Castellanos of Royal Palm Beach is looking forward to celebrating his 74th birthday in September 2015.  A member of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, he knows he is a walking miracle.

Even with a terrifying diagnosis and a future with many uncertainties and battles ahead, his wit, and humor continue to inspire and brighten the lives of those around him.   He is truly an inspiration to his family and friends.

Everyone has been touched by cancer to some degree.  It takes a village to raise a child, and it also takes a village to fight cancer.  Luis and his family can use any and all support, as they embark on this long, difficult journey to recovery.

Donations will afford Luis the best possible medical treatment.  All donations received go directly toward Luis’ care and supportive network.

The Castellanos family is truly humbled by your solidarity and want to say thank you to everyone that has donated and sent messages of love and support along our way. It's extremely gratifying to see so many friends and family band together to support us in a time of need.

History

The Castellanos family became members of OLQA back in 1988 when our Liturgical Celebrations were at the old Lyons Club Hall.  As the years passed he got closer and closer to the founders of the parish.  Luis often served the church as Lector, Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan Assistant.  When he turned 65 and was planning his retirement, he was authorized and supported by the Pastor to enroll in the Seminary.  He was part of the class of 2006, the first group of Deacons to graduate from the Diocese of Palm Beach.  Shortly thereafter, Luis became a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 12376.

Luis has been married to Cenelia for 46 years, they have three children: Sandra Hammerstein of West Palm Beach; Jorge  Castellanos and his wife Shelly of Raleigh, North Carolina and Paola Tardiff and her husband Michael of Royal Palm Beach; and seven grandchildren.
