A Mission Trip To Nicaragua

Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for taking the time to view this letter and know that reading it, is a HUGE blessing!
Recently, God has opened an amazing door in my life! One that I am positive is a calling from Him!
It's funny how God reminds us (especially me) of His word. Which is both true and good and also that there really is a definite calling on each of our lives. All we've got to do is follow Him.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you." declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future. "
In my mind as a man, I have often thought of ways to help or make a difference in this great big old world. In my heart since being a boy I have been made aware of my convictions. Convictions to love all and do right. Although I fall short daily and can't imagine how to even begin on a local level much less a global one, my Heavenly Father has been consistant! He has swooped in with all the right answers and once again there is confusion no more! I defiantly praise Him for that!!
So here is the deal, with very little notice, (but knowing and beliving God is handling it all) I have been asked to join a construction team to go to the country of Nicaragua, November the 6th of this year! The team and I, are to build a school for homeless, orphaned, children. Children who are currently squatting in the local sugar cane fields.
As a father my heart breaks for those kids and am prepared to help with everything in me. As a man who works construction my hands are ready. As a Christian (which on a serious note I'd like to add, doesn't mean a perfect man... that I am NOT, but a forgiven one I am! Thank you Jesus!) I know my soul has been called.
The cool thing is, I know God has been preparing me and my family (who will stay back in Florida) for some time now. In our personal lives little things here and there have been coming together for me to go to Nicaragua, before we even knew about the opportunity or possibility! How cool is that?!
What really excites me most is not what some may think. It's not about what I can do in Nicaragua, but what God will do in me!
My request and purpose of reaching out to you, is to ask for your prayers. Prayers for safe travels, pray that regardless God's light is shined, and pray for those precious children.
Lastly if it's in your heart to give any amount towards the total cost of this trip that would be such a blessing. I know this trip is in the Lord's hands and he will bring everything together! So I am thankful for Him and I am thankful for each and every one of you!

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
