Dave’s Dance With The Big C

In May of this year, our lives changed forever when my Father-In-Law Dave was checked into Emergency with a food blockage in his esophagus. Our hopes for an incidental event were quickly crushed when he was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. While waiting on results for different tests and diagnostics, the cancer spread and we are now dealing with the reality of having a disease that cannot be cured. But this is not the narrative. This is Dave’s Dance, and he is taking the lead. He is doing all within his power to extend his life and to take in every moment.

We - his family, are there by his side, supporting him every step of the way. Even with our public health care system, the cost for this kind of battle is exorbitant. Complications from treatment require expensive therapies and interventions, and they do not have private coverage. With Dave unable to work and his wife Linda taking time off to take care of him, the bills are piling up. Dave and Linda have always opened their home and their hearts to those in need, dedicating their lives to helping those when they need it.
