About This Page

Help support Dan Wells in his journey to become Formula One World Champion. He is the 2011 Formula Renault UK Finals Series Runner Up who started his karting career in 2009, where podiums and fastest laps marked him out as a future star.

A graduation to Formula Ford 1600 in 2010 was successful with John Percy, an engineer from Ringwood who ran him out of a single trailer against the larger more experienced teams. Racing in tracks across the UK - he took 5 class poles enroute to 5 wins that year. This brought him to the attention of the Racing Steps Foundation for their 2010 Formula Renault UK Winter Cup shootout, consisting of psychometric tests, simulator assessments, physiological tests - the six week process culminating in a day at Rockingham in FRUK machinery. Dan was 0.6s clear of the other finalists including McLaren Autosport Award Winner Oliver Rowland.

Some very generous sponsors and partners came forward to help him compete in the 2011 Formula Renault UK Finals Series which pitched him against 30 other of the best European and British driving talents. He emerged as Vice Champion with 3 podiums in 6 races, never finishing outside the Top 6.

Dan needs your support to allow him to make the move up the motor racing ladder, and in conjunction with BAM Motorsports Group, a fantastic future in racing awaits him... Especially with the possibility of becoming a Ferrari Driver Academy driver at the end of this year.

This is just an update for all my fans and sponsors to say a massive thank you for your help so far. When I set up this GoFundMe page back in December of last year I had no idea what sort of response I would get, but I have been overwhelmed by the support here. To have received sponsorship from not only my home country, but afar a field as Russia, and the United States of America is truly amazing and heart warming. ...The GoFundMe page alone is currently unable to fully fund my title challenge in Formula Renault UK this year. For this reason, the current target target will be extended to £25,000 which puts me in the best possible positions to fulfil my aspirations in single seaters. I have been working hard offline to secure sponsorship and it has been a long few months - and I am still waiting on a few people/businesses to get back to me so I hope I will have some news soon. As I always say, if you know anyone who can help - put them in touch! The GoFundMe sponsorship from all my fans and supporters raised so far has made a real contribution to my testing budget. Wish me luck in my negotiations with some potential major sponsors in the next few weeks... I will keep you posted.
