Olympic training and Living expenses

Hi and thanks for looking at my page! I am long track speedskater currently training in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in hopes of making the 2014/2018 winter Olympic team. I started speedskating when I was 9 years old, and was inspired by the 2002 Winter Olympic games in Salt Lake City, Utah. I began training year round by racing in my local summer inline racing series. I raced inlines for 3 years and by the age of 12 I had won many races and had won 3 season long series titles. At the age of 13 I stopped inline racing over the summer to compete in road and track cycling for the next 5 years. I attended the USA National Championship races for 3 years and competed in 8 events. I also raced in an international junior tour in Quebec, Canada called the "Tour de la Releve". Both inlining and cycling served as a key part of my summer training for many years, but I now train specifically for speedskating.

Since I have started skating I have attained Category 1 status for 4 consecutive years, I was one of the youngest skaters to compete in the 2010 Olympic Trials, and I have consistently been one of the top finishers in both the 1500 meter and 3000 meter races in my division.


While training 4-6 hours daily, 6 days a week, I also attend the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and I am majoring in Kinesiology. After I graduate I am planning on going to graduate school.


With the amount of time needed to train and attend school, I do not have a lot of extra time for a consistent job, and it makes meeting ends meet very difficult. The cost to fund a dream is very high, and any donation would be greatly appreciated! The money will go directly to helping pay for ice (which exceeds $1,000 a year), travel expenses, equipment, and food.
