First of all, hello. My name is Dale Garnett. My life is the truest tale of inspiration and willingness to never give up (and I’m only 33).
I’d like to just touch on a few points:
- in 1983 I had a kidney transplant at 19 months old, I started on peritoneal dialysis at only 6 weeks old., I was the one doctors took a chance on, before me if a baby was born with no urine expulsion, it was expected to die. I was the youngest in Canada to have a kidney transplant and the youngest ever to be on dialysis ( I believe) at 6 weeks old.
- I have at least a  2 dozen times that I very well should have died, yet I didn’t. It’s like there is a reason I’m on this Earth and I’m still searching for it.
- Through all my crap, my kidney ( I only have one ) survived until about 6 years ago. The average life span of a transplanted kidney from a cadaver is only 8 years. I held mine for 27 years before End Stage Renal Failure began and i ended up back on hemodialysis, another “miracle” one might say.
  - Due to a series of illness amongst my family, it makes it hard for them to help me financially but they do what the can, and always make sure I have the basic necessities.
Even in my darkest moments, I never gave up, but there were many times I thought about ending a lifetime of pain and anguish, but again I say, I NEVER GAVE. Tests show that my heart is working at only 30% and since my body has functioned with only one kidney, I have the body of a 70 year old man in the frame of a 33 year old man. The scary thing is I have lived the life of a 70 year old man. I have had multiple cardiac arrests and had to have my heart shocked back into rhythm on 2 seperate occasions.
I recently found out that due to my complicated and life long history of medical problems I will not be recieving my heart and kidney transplants and have just been labelled permenantly severely disabled. I am currently now living in an assisted living housing so i can never work or go to school again. I am now living off of gov’t assistance. My accomodations and food are all inclusive in the home I reside in. After the gov't pays my rent and transit costs I only get $315 for my personal bills and what not. I barely make it through the month, but I still remain optimistic and hopeful that I will be rewarded for a lifetime of pain, anguish, struggle and suffering.

The reason I have came here to ask for help is because now that I know my life will greatly be shortened. The doctors say that as long as my heart stays stable it may be 15 years but it could also be tomorrow and with only getting such a small amount that I could never save up enough money to do some things I've always wanted to do, but out of all the stuff I will never get to do is I would love to fly from Edmonton AB to Toronto, Ont and see my favorite baseball team play, which is the Blue Jays at The Skydome.
I am not here to ask for money to go do these things but I am trying to raise enough money that I can start building custom gaming PC's and raise the money myself. Unfortunatley due to the circumstances I could never afford to afford the tools, parts and software needed to do so. Not only does it help me get to my final goal, it also gives me something to do that I enjoy doing to pass the time I now have on my hands. It would make me feel needed and I could still contribute to society instead of just wasting away in a home.

Thank you for your time and I hope to raise the money I need so I can work to my final goals before my time on this Earth comes to a close. As long as I stay optomisticand positive then I can still accomplish some of these dreams. It's the negativity not the illness that will finally get you in the end is how I see. Thanks again for your time.
