My name is Dara Waters and I am a 45 year old post-menopausal African American woman who was a Surgical Technologist, Medical Transcriptionist and a Certified Massage Therapist until I started getting holes in my skull. Before seeking extensive medical treatment, I finished raising my now 21 year old son, who will soon be my caregiver for life.
On September 29, 2016, after fluid was coming out of my ears for 3 year, I had my first brain surgery due to holes in my skull and them causing encephaloceles. Part of my temporal lobe of my brain was removed causing short-term memory loss, concentration issues and emotional changes. On February 6, 2018 and emergency brain surgery was done on the same side of my head (left) in the same incision to close new holes in my skull with brain falling out of it. The damaged brain was pushed back into my skull and the holes closed. That part of my brain will never heal. On June 21, 2018 I had a permenant shunt put in my brain to control my cerebral spinal fluid. I need your help to accomplish my financial goal of $5000.
I will use the money for the special diet I am supposed to be on to help with my Intestinal Hyperpermeability since I do not receive enough food stamps to do this diet, to buy the appropriate equipment for my head so I can sleep better after the 3 skull surgiers (two of them brain surgeries), over-the-counter Vitamin D, B and Fish oil, braces for my right elbow, both wrists, and both knees for polyarthritis, and everyday living items like toilet paper, paper towels, air purifier, money to do laundry which I cannot do myself and have not been able to afford since March and more.
