Have you ever had a dream that you wanted to accomplish? Did you have roadblocks in your way that would not allow you to do this?
I recently competed in the Alabama Strongest Man competition and won for my weight class. This gives me the opportunity to go to the Strongest Man Nationals in Reno, NV. While there, someone very close to me also won. He won for his weight class and is allowed the same opportunity to proceed to Nationals. I have friends, family, and sponsors that will help me achieve this goal. The person I am about to tell you about does not.
I have a friend, brother, fellow veteran that needs our help. First part of this man's life is that he helps veterans daily. He has started a non-profit organization that helps troubled veterans get back on the right path. He gets gyms to help get them started in crossfit, strongman, and power lifting. Again, this is all non-profit so he does not make a dime. He has over 20 veterans he works with at the moment. Three of those are single amputees, while he has recently taken on the challenge to help a double leg amputee as well.
The man who helps these Veterans has faced some challenges as well. He was actually never supposed to walk again. He was in a Humvee in Afghanistan and hit an IED. When he finally woke up, his foot was sitting on his forehead. He was in a wheelchair and was told "you will never walk again." This man did not let that stop him. He vowed to walk again, and he did. He also went on to win the Alabama Strongman in the heavyweight class.
Now this is where I need everyone's help. I want to raise the money for his flight to Reno. He cannot afford it. He is able to get his room and entry paid for, but the flight is very expensive. As discussed, he runs a non-profit organization. I am starting a go fund me account in order to make this dream happen for this man. We are about helping people right? We are about helping veterans right? Let's work together and make this man's dream come true. I ask for your help.
