Justice for Ferguson
My name is Dan Johnson. A few years ago, some college friends and I sat down and created PANDA, People Against the NDAA. Our mission was to stop the military from operating on our streets.
Our mission was to stop things like what happened in Ferguson this week. (I have been livestreaming at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/feelinsofly)
On our original website, we put:
“We do not want our children to live in a world where military men with AR-15s stand outside their bedroom window.”
We meant it. Since that time, I have been directly involved with passing legislation against the use of the laws of war in 7 communities:

Our main focus is preventing the military from policing America's streets. However, whether it’s under the Department of Defense or not, Ferguson was turned into a warzone. And whether the local police are military or not, they looked like the military, acted like the military, and more importantly treated the people like the U.S. military has treated our own citizens every time one part of this country was considered a battlefield.
That's why I'm in Ferguson, right now. I live 8 hours away, in Ohio, but I can help here in Ferguson. I can use my few years of organizing expertise to generate a response and bring justice to this greiving community. Most importantly, I can help make sure this NEVER happens again. That's why I'm asking for your help.
Through my leadership at PANDA, we have forced local governments to do things they did not want to do: actually stand up for their people's rights and do their jobs. Here are some examples:

Over the past few days, the people have told me they want a few things. Number one is justice. They want those responsible for the response of their government held accountable. I intend to help them make that happen.
The camel has peeked its nose out from under the tent. We need to send a message to every poice department in America that this is NOT o.k. It can start here.
