Cynthia Vance Equipment Fundraiser

Ever since I was a kid, I've had a passion for art. I was completely engrossed from a very young age. When I was 12 years old, I knew filmmaking was all I wanted to do with my life. It became an obsession and a dream. Over the last 5 years I've been able to make a part of my dream reality. I've travelled to several countries in Southeast Asia after receiving my "big break" with Asia's largest MMA promotion, ONE FC, worked with incredible female martial artists from all around the world to share their journey despite such unbelievable odds, to most recently, working with the biggest name in sports today, UFC Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.


I've also worked some of the biggest Showtime Boxing events in the past few years such as Mayweather vs Pacquiao, Canelo vs Mayweather, and Canelo vs Lara.

It's been an incredible journey thus far!

While I've been able to accomplish and experience so much, it hasn't been an easy road. All artists are familiar to the universal struggle we all share with pursuing something that is the truest expression of ourselves. Honestly though, it's always been about making enough just to get by. However, I've been lucky to have amazing friends and colleagues support some of my work projects by allowing me to use their equipment when available. I'm thankful for that but I don't want to give up on the process of my growth and realizing an inspiration into my new future creations. I'm realizing now that having my own equipment is very necessary.


Which is why I am calling on hopeful supporters to invest in equipment for my future projects.

I started as an autodidact at an early age, teaching myself the skills needed to create my art. As time has passed, I've evolved so much as an artist while learning on the job as well. Growth is inevitable with everything that I've experienced. But now, I'm looking to expand my art and explore different subjects to bring interesting stories to life through photo and video.

This year I hope to create a few projects involving the communities of South Central LA and Skid Row… two places that are deeply effected by misrepresentation and discrimination. I want to share what I've seen with you while being in these communities. I am going to Mexico by the end of the year and hope to shoot a few projects there as well… shedding light on sub-cultures that are often misunderstood and bring a new perspective on Mexico, especially to Americans that have built a stereotype due to misrepresentation by mass media.

I hope to share the stories from our society today in hopes of offering insight, understanding and the ability to relate to the world on a grander scale, beyond what is seen within the confines of the communities we live in.

My desire to share new stories with you is guided by great feelings of love.


My aim is to share with the world the beauty in our differences. The beauty that lies within our cultures, communities, and ourselves. And that within our differences are the same basic values, desires, and dreams that unite us. I strongly believe that there is no stronger medium than art to bring us closer to one another.
