Food Truck to Brick and Mortar!

Our Story:

My family is everything. They are the epitome of all things I strive to be; they are strong, they are hopeful, and they are love. We also love food. We love everything about it, eating it, cooking it, creating it, and sharing it. I known for a long time now that food is how I wanted to spend my life. It is 100% my passion. To me food and family are synonomous. They beautifully evoke feelings of laughter, love, culture, and happiness.

Then in 2011 my family went through something no family should ever have to go through. My brother, Joseph "Joey" Whitt passed away at the young age of 29 in an automobile accident. It was a horrible blow. Optimism was not a word that was thrown around during this time, but it was something I knew I had to try and restore.

So the journey begins. I bought a food truck.

I knew I had to give my family something to be excited about once again. I had to try and succeed in my brother's honor and there was no other way I knew how to do it. It all made sense to me. My mother, Doris, is a genius in the kitchen. Her recipes were unlike anything I have ever tasted. I knew I had to share this with Columbus. So with my own personal savings garnered from serving tables while also attending OSU full-time, I took the plunge and got to work. Over the course of a year I prepped for our grand opening with my best friend and right hand, Mom.

Over the next two years we busted our tails, working at festivals, breweries, bars, and corporate events. And people loved it!

We were so proud of our food!

Even with all the truck's success, our goal was not complete. We wanted a permanent spot for Teodora's Kitchen. And we finally found it. 3339 N High Street in Clintonville.

Our goal for the restaurant is to serve high-quality, locally sourced products with Latin American inspiration. We will strive to make everything from scratch with all the love of a home-cooked meal. Our menu will be seasonally driven with meats and produce from local farms all across Ohio.

With the food truck chapter of our lives closed and a new one just beginning, we need your help. We are in the final stages of finally being able to open Teodora's Kitchen in a brick and morter location. We just need one final push to reach the finish line. Any donation will help! We could not be where we are today without the help of so many people along the way and we could not be more grateful. We started out with family and we will continue on with an even bigger family, all of you! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and many great wishes to you all!
