When I joined YouTube 5 years ago I had no idea I would meet the love of my life. Sam and I met in the spring of 2012 through our common hobby of video editing and our love for horses. We clicked instantly and became best friends in a few short months. Despite her living in Manitoba, Canada and I in Oklahoma, USA, we became very close friends and began skyping and messaging nonstop throughout the entire year and got through some really tough times together, but none as tough as the September of 2013. On an unusually cold Sunday night I was driving my car home when I fell asleep at the wheel and wrecked my car into a 20ft ravine. I was not wearing my seatbelt and naturally was ejected into the rocks and pieces of concrete. I'll spare you the gory details but the long story short is I ended up down there for 5 and a half hours going in and out of consciousness with a broken femur and a shattered heel bone sticking out of my foot, along with minor internal injuries and a busted head. Luckily a man heard my cries for help and came to my rescue right on time. With my blood levels and hypothermia setting in I more than likely would not have made it much longer. After being in the hospital for 10 days and having 2 surgeries you can imagine the medical bills I racked up, which didn't seem like a problem at the time, I'm insured and I thought I was in the clear on bills. I was released from the hospital in October and began the road to recovery where I was bedridden for 3 months. Sam was right by my side the entire way (metaphorically speaking). On the rough days she would listen to me sob and pathetically complain, on the good days she would congratulate me on progress and talk to me about life in our futures. In the months we had talked we had grown closer and closer and before I knew it I couldn't keep my feelings from her any longer. On January 6th 2014 I confessed everything and told her I was in love with her. Terrified of how she would react I had her on FaceTime as she watched the "confession video" I had prepared for her. Soon enough she was I. Tears and saying how she had always loved me and that she felt the same way about everything. We both told our families and they supported out long distance relationship 100%. Trough the months we got beaten down by strangers telling us we would never make it and that we are too young to understand what we want, but through the doubts of those people who didn't know us we finally met in July 2014 and spent an entire month together. Soon she will be coming down in November and coming up on our 1 year anniversary in January we have been planning vigorously on the big move I will be making to be by her side. The only thing holding me back is my medical bills and lack of a car (which I am working on). I have never asked for help from the community before, but I so desperately need help. My family wants to help me pay but they just simply cannot afford it, even though they are putting every penny into helping me.. It's been a heck of a year, and I'm hoping that maybe my story will at least inspire people to drive safer and that true love is real. I will stop at nothing to get to my love, and I'm hoping maybe, just maybe, you all would be willing to help me get there. Thank you so much for reading this and even if you haven't been swayed to donate money I hope you can take something out of my bad situation to help you.
