St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt At CANALSIDE
To support Childhood Cancer Research
On March 14th at Canalside Buffalo we are hosting a scavenger hunt with a Cure Me I’m Irish after party.
This is our 6th year celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a PURPOSE. Joining with our community to Save Kids with Cancer!
Funding for childhood cancer is extremely lacking. Less than 4% of the National Cancer Institutes budget is allocated to childhood cancer research. All 12 types of childhood cancer must share that 4%.
Reading that statistic I completely understand WHY my daughter Melina died in 2010 from neuroblastoma two months before her 14th birthday. With such a deficit in funding for research, I know now she never had a fighting chance.
The sad fact is, she is not alone. Many kids are fighting for their lives with few treatment options.
Melina fought for 5 ½ years with everything she had and every option we could find for her. After 40+ hours in the operating room, 100+ days of chemotherapy, 50+ radiation visits, countless blood transfusions, hundreds of blood draws mixed with fear, pain & sadness…Melina’s story ended.
But in Melina’s name we can continue to fight to change another child’s story by
PUTTING KIDS FIRST IN CANCER RESEARCH……And giving them the treatment options they need to win their fight and grow up to have a future!

Melina’s White Light Childhood Cancer Foundation is a parent founded organization run completely by volunteers & funded through the generous donations of our sponsors and community.
Through our work we are able to help fund relevant, groundbreaking research and also give back to many of our WNY programs that support our local kids as they fight for their lives.
We are so appreciative of the support we received from our WNY family during Melina’s Cancer fight that we would like to give back wherever we can.
