Cuba Backpack Journalism Trip
Friends and family,
As most of you know, I am currently studying broadcast journalism in the Murrow College at Washington State University, and passionately working hard towards my goal of becoming a reporter.
This summer, the college is offering a backpack journalism trip to Havana, Cuba that I've decided to go on for about ten days in early May. This is a unique opportunity for me to see the country at a pivotal point in its history, and I know this experience will help me to reach my goals.
During the trip, we will meet with American and Cuban journalists working in Havana. We will also visit old and new Havana, schools, museums and sights pertaining to the country's history and politics. A professional news team from KIRO-TV in Seattle and former NBC News correspondent, Ed Rabel, will also join us, giving me the opportunity to seek advice from and work with professionals.
With your support, I can afford the trip of a lifetime. Thank you in advance for any amount you can contribute!
Sincerely and with much gratitude,
Brenna Kelly
