A Whole Lotta Crunch (AWLC) is the brain child of Valerie Stone, who with her colleague, graphic designer Marcia Huyette, has embarked on a journey of food and fun.
The mission of AWLC is to provide healthy snacks to kids and adults.
The food: Valerie's delicious basic blend of oats, unsweetened shredded coconut, sliced almonds, wheat germ, honey, dried cranberries, golden raisins, dates, unsalted butter, and cinnamon comes packed in re-sealable bags that are just the right size to slip into your pocket, bag or backpack. It's not a bar - it's loose - so you can enjoy a handful now, a handful later - or just pour it over your favorite yogurt or ice cream. Each version has a slightly different ingredient added: salted sunflower seeds/banana chips/organic dark chocolate chips, etc. By popular demand, we started selling larger bags as well. The fun: kids (and grown-ups too) love our animal mascots which were created by a young artist named Alicia. She was only 8 years old when she created the first characters for our "Moo Munch" and "Meow Munch." Then came "Boo Munch" with delightful ghosts for a Halloween-themed version with candy-coated sunflower seeds, "Merry Munch" has the cutest snowman for the winter Crunch, and finally "Monkey Munch," one of our favorites. Graphic designer Marcia took the art by Alicia and produced the fanciful, colorful labels and promotional materials.
More fun: The 6-Packs for Kids will have stickers inside the bag . . . and you know how kids love stickers!
For a couple of years now, we have sold our products at local Farmers' Markets and Food Fairs with great success. Feeling ready to take the next step, we approached Whole Foods Market last Fall to see if they would carry our 6-Packs for Kids (Moo Munch) and 6-Packs of Just Nutless (Nut-Free!). To our great delight - we are in!
Now we just have to be able to fill large orders - and that means more product, more labels, more bags, more ribbon, more shipping boxes, more of everything - maybe even more help! We have been getting by on a tight budget up to now, but it's time to ask for financial help to get this product on the shelves and into the hands of happy Crunchers!
