Sponsoring young venezuelan artist
The crisis lived in Venezuela has affected every single field and corner; Sadly, culture and arts are not the exceptions. Venezuelan plastic artists are having a very hard time to reach the international projection they need (and deserve) to grow professionally. This is, in great part, because of an extremely heavy dollar control managed by the government. Artist with great potential are driven to deny international projects and exhibition invitations, just because they can’t access dollars. Starting with the difficulty of acquiring something as simple as an airline ticket… as they are quoted in the American coin, while Venezuelans earn in Bolívares. Leaving the country represents a near-impossible mission.
Today, and NOW, you can help transform this awful reality in a different one. I, Sebastian Ochoa, decided to create a donation space, to support Venezuelan Artists mission on crossing the national borders to export their talent. As a first goal, I would like to help my brother, Cristobal Ochoa (28 years old), who has been invited to represent Venezuela in a prestigious art exhibition in France, this May. I invite you to support this noble cause. Artists like Cristobal have worked really hard to put the name of Venezuela at the top; only last year he won first place in England’s Brighton Art Festival, in which a lot of international artists participated; The years before that, he presented with great success his work in China, South Korea, Colombia and Mexico. He, like many other Venezuelan artists, needs our help to fund the costly work that involves, not only the creation of pieces that require material quoted in dollars, but the transportation and all other expenses involved.
