One Horse - One Dream
Rosie's Journey of Hope Therapeutic Riding Facility is in desperate need for a covered arena. The heat and rain makes it difficult for our fragile clients with special needs to participate in our equine program. Currently we can only serve them for six months out of the year. The cover would allow us to open up all year. We have clients on a waiting list to start in the spring. We also need sand for our arena so our therapy horses have a soft ground to walk on. We are a 501 c3 non-profit organization who has been in business since 2006. We rely on donations only and any amount would be appreciated. These children really need our help. It helps them with self-esteem, better mobility, balance, and it's just fun for the clients. When winter comes the children are not able to attend and it affects their emotional and physical being.
Cathy is founder and president of Rosie's and is a Registered Nurse who's dream is to be able to serve as many special needs children and adults as possible. Cathy and Rosie who was her special quarter horse she had for 18 years served many children. Rosie passed away in 2006 and in memory of her and all she did for the children, Cathy started a second program in memory of her. She has been doing this for many years and also incorporated nursing students by having them attend workshops at Rosie's and helping with clients. This interaction with the horses and helping with the clients benefit the students tremendously.
